INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVES

The nature of information environment is changing dramatically with the advancement in ICTs and emerging trending technologies. Ever changing user needs and expectations have made library and information science profession as one of the most exciting one to work in and provides opportunities for LIS professionals.

To address the issues and challenges of futuristic e-libraries, an International Conference on Digital Technologies and Transformation in Academic Libraries (DigiTTAL-2019) is being organised by Central Library, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal during December 26-28, 2019 as part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration Year of the institute (1960-2020). The conference would definitely help libraries to stay in tune with rapid changes occurring due to the introduction of emerging innovations, trends and technologies and prepare themselves for excellence to serve the users.

SPEAKERS

Eminent experts in the field from India and abroad will be invited to deliver keynote address and plenary sessions.

The major objectives of this international conference are:

to bring together Library and Information Science professionals, academicians and educationists in the field of Library and Information Science
to create an environment to discuss and elaborate on the emerging technologies for the digital transformation of libraries and roles being played by the library professionals in changing the libraries
to discuss the challenges being faced by librarians in the digital transformation of libraries through brainstorming technical sessions, tutorials, workshops, exchange of views and sharing of experience.
